Proverbs 11:12

Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense, but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.

The Bible places a high value upon discretion, which is basically what NOT to say about things. This is especially true when we get to know people beyond superficial ways. If we want to honor God with our neighbors, we need to cultivate a relationship where they can feel safe. So guard well what you say about others, for as you treat others in the way that you would like to be treated, you open a door for true understanding.
