This month we celebrate our 100th Church Anniversary Homecoming. This is an amazing accomplishment as a church. To have served the people of Oak Ridge and surrounding communities have truly been a blessing for us, and the blessings have grown throughout the church for 100 years. Our Homecoming service is October 23 at 10:30 a.m. Let’s start getting the word out to the community and to past members to come celebrate this great church and all the things that God has done for us and is doing in our church. Here is a list of the things that will be going on that day…..

  • The dedication of our Arbor building.
  • Guest Speakers: Rev. Neal Eller and Rev. Dr. Brooks Hunt
  • Covered Dish Luncheon and fellowship time with former members and friends

Revelation 2:14

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.

The church at Pergamum remained faithful in the midst of a city that Jesus described as “where Satan lived”, yet they crossed over into sexual immorality. We are called to be lights in dark areas, but it is when we are closest to the battle when we need to be the most watchful, for we have an enemy that hates the light. As much as we value freedom, the Scripture has a greater value of obedience to God. Don’t allow your freedom in Christ to become an excuse to step into sin.
