Obadiah 1:11

On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.

The book of Obadiah was a scathing rebuke to the tribe of Edom for taking advantage of their relatives in Israel. The Edomites were the descendants of Esau, who was the brother of Jacob. How did the Edomites take advantage of Israel? By doing nothing while Israel was being attacked, then pillaging them while they were weak. Obadiah reminds us that there are brothers and sisters all around us who need our help. Apathy or the exploitation of others weaknesses is not an option in the eyes of God.
